Recreation area in Wangsa Maju.

Salam,

Now that there are many of us in the eGroup, I wish to share something
which to me is a concern. I trust that you all will consider even if
you do not agree.

I am concerned that there is no open space meant for Wangsa Maju.
There is an unfinished area next to Section 6, in the valley, and I do
not know when it will be finished. They have been working on that for
months now. I go about my brisk walk in the morning around Section 6,
and in all cases on open road with, with the area infront of the
Pangsapuri to be very busy. One can easily be knocked down by a car
over there. I have sent an e-mail to the Developer (Landmarks)
expressing my concern. What we need is a good public walking or
running track in Wangsa Maju. I proposed that Landmarks earmark the
hill area behind Section 5 & 6 as a recreation area, with walking
tracks, hill walks and bird sanctuary. But with a lone voice nobody
will listen. Maybe as a group we may persuade Landmarks to consider.

where are we?

Do we really care for our environment where we live? Old sofa left outside for someone to collect, pillows left in children playground (compounded with a plastic bag of rubbish) and paper and tissues thrown and left on road edge (probably thrown out of a parked car of residents nearby).

Waiting for some one to collect? What an attitude huh! Or just leave it to nature, wind and weather to degrade the rubbish. We ourselves are degrading really.

No owner?

Many moons this bicycle has been left, locked to a lamp post in the compound of the surau in Section 5. Has the owner forgoten it? Or has the owner moved away forgetting it? Or has the owner abandonned it? Or he/she just lost the key and too shy to admit it.

Loteng

This is clever. The house has got an attic, built on the tall space on top of the family area, and a window is inserted to jut out above the original roof giving ventilation. Without even disturbing the structure of the house. Thus an extra room is created for a middle link house.

Traffic arrangement?

Wonder what will be the traffic arrangement in this area be when the mosque (masjid) and the buildings (Wangsa Metro View) across the road is ready, occupied (and used)? Fridays will be the worse.

Sure footed in Wangsa Maju. Bravery or stupidity - a very thin line.

Really safe area?

Is the scheme really effective? Or just 'melepas batuk ditangga?' The patrol is too on schedule and anyone can time them, the guards moving too fast. It has helped though but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Recreational facilities.

When are we getting a proper recreational facilities in Wangsa Maju? 6 or 7 years now since the board had been there, not sure but it has been there a long time - see the overgrowth (and the climber).
