Walking Path

It is blocking a path like this (photo attached) that causes problems to our concrete walking path, in addition to cars parking on them. Photo taken this morning.
This reduces the potential of our Wangsa Maju area, and may even affect the property values.

Open house

Its the season of 'open house'. Its a month of celebrating Eid el Fitr (Hari Raya AidiFitri). Why open house? An ocassion of celebration, an ocassion of inviting your friends, your office mates, and even your relatives for a free 'eat', usually the local cuisine of "rendang" and "lemang" and "ketupat", with of course other additional dishes of local content like "satay" etc etc, and all the sweets that one can cook or get other people to cook. Western dishes may also be included in some rich people houses.

Theoretically one can walk into anyone's house for the 'open house' during the period, but in most cases one is too proud to do that, one waits to be invited. And in one area there may be many 'open houses' going on at the same time, but one can usually pick and choose even if one is invited to all. A sort of a priority basis that is, if one has got so many invitations.

In my housing estate area, the President,

(and his lovely wife) of our Association had his open house on Sunday 26th Oct. 2008, and my wife and I went.

And we met many people who live in our housing estate at the 'party'. They came and they went, and there were streams of visitors till late evening.

It now has got a name

A restaurant? Why the bookshop?

It has been a long time.

I have not been walking in my usual morning walking path in Wangsa Maju since before the fasting month and now Shawal (Shywal) is nearly over. That makes it just about 2 months now.

And I have observed changes. Mostly for the better.

The old macadamised walking/bicycle path

is now replaced with concrete path. But the sad part of it is that it is now used as a car park area for the residence at the nearly apartments, Pangsa Murni.

And I am happy to note that the old overgrown macadamised walking path is also now replaced by a concrete path.

I am happy with that, and my prayers are answered, I need not walk anymore on the road where the morning traffic is usually heavy.

And when I get into Jalan 1/27D, where the traffic is very very light, it’s a residential area, I need not fear cars anymore.

And the Fairview International School buildings seems to progress very well. Judging by the heavy equipment ands the workers quarters, it looks like more of the school buildings will be built on that vacant lot.

And my neighbour at the back of my house has moved into his newly extended and built house. Glad to have such neighbour, with beautifully designed house.

But that black car parked at the junction entrance is dangerous to traffic movement and spoils the view of my neighbours house.

New restaurant

http://surau-annaim.blogspot.com/2008/10/old-member-new-restaurant.html

Behind the Carrefour hypermarket building in Wangsa Maju KL, new restaurants are mushrooming like that after rain. The above is another restaurant which has just been opened. This is a Malay restaurant, serving mostly food from the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia (so the owner said), with speciallity of food from The Sultanate of Trengganu state.
